What's The Best Thing About Owning a Jeep?
That's an easy question - YOUR JEEP is the best part of being a Jeep owner. My Jeep looks great, goes anywhere and is the perfect vehicle for me.
So what's the worst part about being a Jeep owner? Coincidentally, the Jeep itself is also the worst part of Jeep ownership! Considering how much Jeep's cost, I personally expected a lot more in terms of build quality, component quality and innovation.
What off-road consumers really need is a competing brand to challenge Jeep's exclusive market position. Perhaps it's time for a stand-alone Canadian auto-maker to emerge and bring to market a True North Jeep that will be just as fun to own but built with Canadian quality and innovation! Too bad that will never happen! The Jeep could be a truly extraordinary vehicle if it was designed and made with so much as a mediocre level of effort and commitment to quality.
Ultimately, I hope I have more Jeep goodness to write about than badness, but after 5 months of ownership, I'm on my second warranty claim, first recall and I've been required to make several modifications to the most basic vehicular components - most recently, I replaced the headlights because the stock Jeep headlights don't really provide any light. At least those stock lights are cheap, right Chrysler??
